WOMEN'S MINISTRY
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world.

Bible Study
The Women of English Lutheran meet regularly for Bible study at 9:00 AM on the second Wednesday of each month, September through May. One of our pastors leads the study. All women are invited to participate.
Funeral Luncheon Groups
The women of the church help serve at funeral receptions. Circles furnish cakes following the schedule. Karen Smith and Dixie Basch are co-chairpersons, rotating responsibility for making arrangements and calling workers.
Mission Work
The Women of English Lutheran make quilts which are distributed to refugees from war, natural disaster and home fires by Lutheran World Relief. Those interested in sewing quilt blocks for quilt tops at home will be furnished with cut blocks. Or, participants may cut their own blocks and material will be furnished. Quilting skills are not necessary to help. Contact either Vicki Nelson 273-5527 or Janet Arndt 273-4171 for more information.
Items Needed for Relief Work
Used sheets can be used for quilt fillers. All sizes can be used except for fitted twin size. You can bring them to the church office or label them for Women's Ministry and leave in the back of the church. Thank you!
