Alpha is for:Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. Adults of all ages are welcome.Learning and laughter. It is possible to learn about the Christian faith and to have fun at the same time.People meeting together. An opportunity to get to know others and to make new friends.Helping one another. The small groups give you a chance to discuss issues raised during the talks. You’ll make new friends!Asking anything! Alpha is a place where no question is seen as too simple or too hostile.Alpha is for everyone! It’s especially geared to:
When and Where? We meet weekly on Sunday evenings for ten weeks. Also included is a Friday-Saturday weekend away. This is a key part of the course, as well as being great fun. The course is led by a team of people who have completed the course.
Each evening begins with supper at 5:30 pm, includes a captivating video presentation by Nicky Gumbel, the author of the Alpha course, and ends with an opportunity to meet in small groups to discuss what we’ve learned and to ask questions. Except for the weekend away, all meetings will take place at English Lutheran Church. We end each evening promptly at 8:15 pm.
