Vacation Bible School

As with many of our events, we will be canceling our Vacation Bible School this summer.  Luther Point Bible Camp counselors have led this program for the past couple of years and they have made the decision not to send their counselors out for day camps this year.  Also, summer school will not physically meet this year in June, which is where many kids come from for VBS.  For those reasons and the safety of our kids and volunteers we have made the decision to cancel VBS this summer.

Sunday School

Children ages 3 through grade 6 are welcome to join our Sunday school classes at any time of the year.

Children begin the Sunday school hour in the 10:00 am worship service with their parents then join their teachers following the Children's Sermon.  Classes are in session mid-September through mid-May, with no classes over Christmas, New Year's, and Easter Sundays.

Sunday School Mission Focus

Each Sunday school year we select a mission to focus on, it may be local, regional, or global.  Throughout the year we learn about the mission of the ministry we are supporting and work to include the whole congregation along with all of the kids in the Sunday school program in our projects.  We focus on educating the children about why this ministry is important to our community, world, and each of us.  We do a mission project during our Sunday school hour a few times a year and collect offerings throughout the year to benefit the mission.  Thanks to all who have generously supported our Children's Ministry Programs!

In past years we've:

  • Helped provide a well for a the Chileka Mission Area of Malawi, Africa.

  • Provided baby supplies to First Choice Clinic in Red Wing for their clients in the Earn & Learn program in Goodhue & Pierce Counties.

  • Given funds to the Moola for Milk program in Pierce County.

  • Helped with the Thanksgiving Basket program at our church.

  • Provided backpacks with school supplies for Lutheran World Relief.

  • Helped raise funds for the school lunch program at the Ellsworth schools so those struggling to purchase lunches are able to eat lunch and breakfast at school.

  • Supported the Ellsworth Food Shelf with funds and food.

  • Provided laundry soap, dryer sheets, and coins to help those who struggle to afford to clean their clothing in the Pierce County area.

  • Make & deliver Easter Baskets to members of our church who are unable to attend church services.
