Confirmation begins with orientation on Wednesday, September 20th at 6:00 PM. It is open for all youth started in 7th grade. On Sunday, October 29th we will have our Affirmation of Baptism service during our worship service.
The 10th Graders will affirm the promises that were made at their baptism and begin the next steps
of their faith journey. Registration will soon open for Confirmation.
Men's Breakfast
Pastor Pete will be cooking breakfast on Thursday, June 1st for the guys. We will gather in the church kitchen at 8:00 am for a breakfast of fried eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, toast, fruit with coffee and orange
juice. Oatmeal will also be available. The suggested donation is $5.00 to help cover the cost of food. After we are done eating, we will pitch in to clean up. Hopefully, this will be a weekly event with a rotating menu.
Landscaping Project Fundraiser
English Lutheran is currently raising money to pay for our landscaping project. The grounds around the church are in need of repair, and we want to make our property look better. The fundraising goal for this landscaping project is $15,000. You can give a one-time donation or spread it out over time.
Please designate that your donation is for the landscaping project. We have envelopes in the back of the sanctuary that say, "Improvement Fund." There will be a special drop box for these donations.
Palm Sunday Brunch
On Sunday, April 2nd, we will be having a breakfast following the worship service.
We are looking for volunteers who can bring in food, people who can serve, and who can help clean up. There will be a sign up sheet in the back of the sanctuary. Contact the office with any questions!
'The Chosen' Summer Bible Study
Pastor Pete will be leading a summer bible study on Wednesday mornings this summer based on the
television series “The Chosen.” It tells the story of Jesus through the eyes of those who met him. Most episodes are about an hour and afterwards, we will discuss what we just watched. Join us at 9:30 am in the Fireside room on Wednesday mornings, starting June 7th. Pastor Pete will provide coffee and cinnamon rolls the first week!
Worship Service Change!
English Lutheran has switched to one worship service per Sunday, at 9: 00 am.
This one service will blend traditional liturgies and more contemporary worship styles. Following the service, at 10:00 am, it will be a time for fellowship, and starting in September, choir practice and Sunday School will follow.
The council will decide at the end of the year to make this permanent.
Confirmation Classes
Our confirmation year is happening! This year we will learn about the Lord's Prayer during our class times, this is a part of a 3-year cycle of the Apostle's Creed, the Lord's Prayer, and the 10 Commandments. We will meet approximately every other week, with a few exceptions as noted.
Sunday School!
Sunday School will run every Sunday, unless noted on the church calendar. Children will start off in worship, and leave after Communion. Sunday School will be from 9:45 am to 10:15 am. Classes will run with large group lesson time, a group activity, and then small group time.
Please contact the CYF committee or the church office with any questions!
Sharing Shed
English Lutheran Church has a “Sharing Shed.” This is a place you can come to drop off items you wish to donate to someone in need. Donations accepted are listed below. No electronics, only necessities. Our shed is a small garden shed, so smaller items only, no furniture. Thank you for your generosity!
It is also a place you can come to take items you are in need of. There is no charge and no strings attached. The shed is not locked and can be accessed at any time. The Sharing Shed is located just outside the back entrance of the church. Please feel free to help yourself at any time.
