Parish Visitors

On Tuesday, January 18 at 1:30pm in the Fireside Room, there will be a meeting at the church to discuss the new parish visitor program. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in visiting some of our members who are shut ins. Ideally, we are looking for volunteers who are willing to visit shut ins once a month, and those who are following worship at home, once every second month.

Malawi Missions Festival

On Sunday, January 23rd, Deacon Laura Ramlow of the Northwest Synod of Wisconsin will speak to us about Malawi. She will bring some books and news of the mission which we support. We will also be taking a special offering for healthcare in Malawi.

Bobbie Sawyers will be planning for some African food to be offered between services. We look forward to hearing what Deacon Laura Ramlow has to say!

2022 Annual Meeting

English Lutheran Church will be having their annual meeting on Sunday, January 30th at 9:15 am. At this meeting, we will vote on council members, and the proposed changes to the Constitution.

COVID Contact Cards

In our efforts to stay COVID conscious, we are implementing a new close contact program. If you would like to be notified of a positive case in the congregation who was at church, please fill out the communion card in the pews with your name and phone number, or send the office an email. Thank you for your cooperation!

Pastoral Update ~ New Interim Pastor

The next step in the process of calling a new pastor will be to convene a Transition Task Force. The Task Force will be developing a document called the Ministry Site Profile. This is a description of our community, our congregation, and what we are looking for in a new pastor. Our Synod will use the Ministry Site Profile to communicate with pastors who are interested in finding a new church to work at.

Our new interim pastor, Charlie Bunk, will be assisting the Transition Task Force in the process. Since he will need a little time to get settled in, and then launch right into Advent and Christmas, we have decided to wait until after the 1st of January before getting the Transition Task Force started. A Call Committee will start working once the Ministry Site Profile has been completed.

Electronic Giving

Did you know we offer electronic giving?  You can make a one-time, weekly, monthly, or semimonthly donation.  Donations can be changed at any time.  You can use your credit card or have funds moved directly from your bank account.  We offer a variety of ways to set this up.

Sharing Shed

English Lutheran Church has a “Sharing Shed.” This is a place you can come to drop off items you wish to donate to someone in need. Donations accepted are listed below. No electronics, only necessities. Our shed is a small garden shed, so smaller items only, no furniture. Thank you for your generosity!

It is also a place you can come to take items you are in need of. There is no charge and no strings attached. The shed is not locked and can be accessed at any time. The Sharing Shed is located just outside the back entrance of the church. Please feel free to help yourself at any time.

Prayer Shawls

If you have a loved one who is going through a tough time and could use the comfort of being wrapped in prayers with a blanket/shawl, you may provide a prayer shawl for them.

Please contact the church office if you need a shawl. There is no cost for the shawl.
